Stop Fertilizing

Just dropping a reminder to all those rose growers out there, that now (actually a little before) is the time when you should stop giving your roses anymore fertilizer, synthetic or organic. This is so that the roses do not put on any new growth to be damaged in the cold winter temperatures. It encourages them to slow down towards their dormant stage.
I know, it's hard to think about things winding down - but what can you do?

How do you protect your roses? Do you cover each of them up? We have about 7 days total where when the temps go below freezing. We have more days where the temp will go down to freezing for a few hours...

I know that Grandpa lives in a much colder place than we do in SW Texas...

Any Thoughts???/

Kevin, you're just one jump ahead of me!!
I am going to do an in depth post on wintering roses in the next couple of days, so if it's alright, would you mind waiting for that, rather than repeating it over?
