rose changes color

I purchased a beautiful yellow "rose tree" for my wife at Lowe's.
About a week after planting it all the blooms fell off. Then in a couple of weeks it started blooming again, but they are all white. We were
disappointed because the yellow was so beautiful and she already has two white one.
Anyone know why this happened and better yet how to change it back to
the yellow color?

Sounds like the "graft" didn't take. What is the variety?

I'm sorry, the wife misplaced the little tag on the bush, so I have
no idea. I'll try to get back over to the store and see if they have
another one that has the name on it.

Understand that one! LOL If you could provide a couple of pictures of the bush including the graft knot. Maybe we can figure out what happened. :)

I appreciate that. I'll see what I can come up with. I think she wants
to go back to Lowe's first and see if they have another yellow one,
and if so swap it out.
I'll let you know how this comes out.

I'm sorry it took so long to get back to the forum. But, here's what has happened.
We went back to the store,but they didn't have any more of the white
and yellow variety,but did have a white and red type which we decided to try.
I had kept the first one to see how it turned out.
Well after shedding all the blooms and actually looking rather ragged, all of a sudden they both took off and I now have two bushes about four feet tall each.
And they are both loaded with blooms. white on bottom and red on top for one and white on bottom and yellow on top for the other.
I have had several people stop and comment on or ask where I got them.
I am very happy with the outcome.I guess the key is patience.

This past summer, I saw some bushes in Lowe's that were made to do that intentionally. They were grafted so that you got yellow and red plossoms on the same bush.

We decided that it was a very handy way for someone with limited space to have a variety of colors.
