I've inherited this rose bush and I can't figure out what it is. I tried looking up types of roses, but I just got more confused. lol

It was obviously cut down to the ground in the fall, since it's all new growth coming up. This is the second time it's bloomed this spring/summer. The last time, each bloom was by itself, but this time they're paired.

Also, there's a giant shrub-stump right next to the rosebush. I had my husband cut grooves in it to help nature decomose it. Will the stump be a problem for the rosebush? I don't even think I can transplant the rose without losing most of its roots.

Well, it's a hybrid tea, that much I can tell you, what name, I'm not sure of. The stump decomposing won't bother the rose, just fertilize it as usual. Eventually the stump decomposing will add extra nitrogen to the area and help the rose grow. Beautiful color.

I just hope the stump actually reaches the decomposing stage.. It's still putting up suckers and trying to make leaves off of the trunk. The thing just doesn't want to die lol.

Just keep cutting the shoots off by the base, you'll eventually "starve" it too death. LOL
