brown spots on rose petals

I have a white rose bush that has brown spots along the edges ot the petals. Can anyone tell me what is likely the cause of this?
Not enought sun, too much water??
It's growing and has a lot of buds they just don't look quite as pretty with the brown spots!
Thanks for any tips! :D

What a lovely website. You probably are dealing with thrips or aphids or both. I use insecticidal soap to take care of that problem. You can also try blasting them off with water.

Thanks so much for the compliment on my garden website! :)
Thanks also for the info and suggestions! I didn't think of it being insects for some reason!
Thanks!
