Getting a starter from a polyantha?

Hi,

I have a "The Fairy" polyantha rose shrub, and I would like to have another. Is there a way to get one from my existing shrub?

Thanks for any help,

You could try to start a cutting off of your existing rose, but it really would be a labor of love; if roses were easy to propagate, then they wouldn't graft them in the first place! Yes, it's doable, but you are going to have to have greenhouse conditions, bottom heat and a humidity triggered misting system, and then wait three or four years for the rose to mature. Isn't it easier and cheaper to buy the rose?
