Rosa Rugosa Rubra

I am thinking of planting Rosa Rugosa as hedge where my open plan front garden meets the pavement. The absolute maximum I can get away with is 3ft highx 3ft wide, but for pedestrian safety I will need to keep it "manicured" where it meets the pavement.
I have read that a Rugosa will grow to 6ft in height with a spread of 5ft.
With my restrictions will it still carry those marvellous scented booms/hips?
Any advice/opinions would be most welcome.
Thanks.

If you do a bit more research, you'll find some rugosas that will fit your height and width requirements, as well as fragrance and hips. :) They are tough, and come in 3 sizes, I'm thinking Hansa is one of the low growing ones, but don't remember for sure.

Not to be confused with ROSA HANSEN HEDGE as to that one is 6' to 10' feet. :)

Glad you mentioned that, I went back and checked, Hansa is one of the tall ones,

Teresa Bugnet, Wasagaming and Monte Blanc are all medium ht ( around 5 ft across, 3 ft tall) rugosas
