Worms on roses and Pentas

I've been finding worms on my roses and my pentas. I've sprayed the bushes with Beyer 3 in 1 spray but it doesn't seem to faze them at all. The ones on the roses are little black worms. The ones on the Pentas are huge green caterpillar type worms.

The caterpillars on pentas are probably Tersa Sphinx moth. And pretty sure that’s an armyworm on the rose.

Bt should work against both.

...I get sawfly on the Rosé, and those are not affected by Bt. I end up mostly hand-picking them, but once the House Wrens and other birds start nesting in the birdhouses, they do a pretty good job of getting deep into the shrubbery. Wasps help, too. So I don’t like to use toxic pesticides.

'Tis the season for bugs of all kinds. Now, that most plants are in leaf and growing, the bugs that feed on them are back as well.
