Fresh Blood in Roses

Okay, new to this forum and to growing roses. My girlfriend and I transplanted a multigeneration rose bush in a large roomy pot. Apparently this sent the bush into "shock". We had some "green thumbs" tell us that using a little fresh blood (beef, chicken, etc) would help it. Is this true? Sorry for being stupid but I really would like to know.

I think only if the animal is slaughtered with the proper rituals and spells next to the rose bush of course.

I would cut back the foliage a bit and keep it shaded and well watered, it should be fine, don't fertilize it yet.
