rose "volunteers"...

was out cleaning around my ramblin' red climbing rose the other day. I just happen to notice there are three new roses growing not far from the base of the original plant. I did dig one up and transplant it to another spot in the garden.

did a quick search to find out if ramblin' red would come true from seed---haven't had much luck so far. I really don't know that much about the breeding of roses, so, since I believe ramblin' red is a cross I am going to assume it is not ramblin' red?

haven't quite got this "true from seed" facet down, yet----;)

Did the volunteers come from seed or did the bush just spread from the roots? If the latter, they could be just clones of your original.

I was careful as I dug up the one plant. I thot if it was an offshoot from the roots of the main plant, it would probably be a ramblin' red---but, this plant didn't seem to be attached to anything, so, I assume it was from seed. I haven't done anything with the other two---yet.
