roses and stems

I have had a beautiful stem just fall off one of my climbing rose bush is there a way to plant this and make it grow... or a way to root it in the ground.. need an answer soon please help

Roses are usually grafted onto a rootstock of a stronger species, and for a good reason; roses are crappy rooters. If this isn't a species rose, I'd chuck the cane ands concentrate on taking care of the poor bush it came from...
