was out doing a close observation on my 'champlain' shrub rose. I transplanted it a little over 2 years ago and has done very well---until this year. almost like rose was split in half. just had new growth on one side of the shrub.
I did notice a tiny stem growing about a foot or so away from main crown. I have a place for it, so, I transplanted that newly growing stem. what I am wondering is, will this be the 'champlain' rose also? or, will it be some other variety---that is, if it survives. I just don't know that much about roses.
I only grow ramblin' red climbing rose and the champlain. considering more roses for next year.
