Buds & leaves yellowing & falling off

I got given a "Lovely Bride" patio rose on my wedding day 3 weeks ago. I transferred it into a new pot with drainage. Unfortunately it did not get watered while we were on honeymoon as in-laws assumed the rain would be enough (seems our balcony is quite sheltered). We have been home a week & I have been trying to make sure it doesn't go dry but some of the leaves are still yellow & the new buds keep turning yellow & falling off. How can I save this rose? What am I doing wrong? Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks

Are you saying that the rose has black spot? Yellow leaves with black or purplish spots? Like this:
