Mini Rose Bush and Aloe Vera in same pot help!!!

Hello everybody, I'm new to this site. Mainly because I don't have a garden!
I have a few window boxes but have just bought an Aloe Vera and Mini Rose bush arrangement both in a wicker basket! Look lovely but ive just realised not only that I may have over watered the Aloe, but I'm not sure if I can keep it outside?? I would love some advice please a this plant looks soooo pretty on my window sill and I really want it to survive!
(the window sill mainly gets afternoon sunlight - not the brightest window ;-/)
