I am about to start sowing some rose plants from seed. Any of the ones below easier than others? What about a preferred sowing method that they like (surface sow, layering, etc.)? Any other help (watering, sunlight needed for seeds & seedlings, fert when they get old enough, etc.) would be greatly appreciated! =)

Rose seeds germinate in cooler temperatures. I always plant my hybrid seedlings the last weeks of December after storing them in the refrigerator for two months. I got an early start this year when I planted them Dec 1st. They are poking out of the ground now. It usually takes 4 weeks for germination to start. Plant after february your germination rate will be much less. The seeds are planted no more than a 1/4 inch under the potting soil. Right now here in california the temps are 50 during the day freezing at night.
