I found a rose while clearing the unwanted overgrowth from in front of my new (first) house last summer. I have little gardening experience.
Once it was uncovered it grew like crazy (vine) but never flowered. I threw a tomato cage around it as a temporary trellis and it quickly became a thorny monstrosity I didn't want to mess with so I just let it go. I didn't do anything to prep it for winter but it looks like it's recovering already.
I can't bring myself to kill it off and I don't have a better place to transplant it. How do I turn this thing from a beast into a beauty?
Hopefully you can see my pictures...

After
(this is when the rose was first uncovered. It's the little twiggy thing left center. I don't have a more recent photo and In its current state I don't know if it would make a rose lover laugh or cry... Probably laugh it's pretty funny looking)
