White/silver round the roots.

I dug up some roses intending to move them to another plot and noted that some had what looked like a white or silver colouring on the roots.
Is this a problem?

Unless the plants look sickly, it may be a beneficial or inert symbiotic fungus of some kind. It doesn't sound like a problem.
