What would you recommend for SW Texas? We don't really have a winter unless you count getting into to 40-50's winter. We might have 2-3 days where we will have a hard freeze.

So, if I'm understanding what you are saying is before it freezes stop watering them, so the cells don't explode from the freeze? Our would I be best to just cover up the plants when we have the freeze?

Don't mean to be an ignorant garderner, but I appricate your thoughts.

Thanks-
Kevin

Hi Kevin!! You are certainly right - you don't really have a winter!! I think if I were you, I would watch for if the temperature were going to dip and cover them. I wouldn't stop watering, and I wouldn't worry about any freezing damage - provided you don't get some wierd winter storm! I wish I had your kind of growing weather!!
You are certainly not an ignorant gardener Kevin, and have asked some very appropriate questions and you deserve answers.
I have just posted a new article on winter care, give it a read, though I think most of it would not be applicable to you - you lucky guy!
Hope you're enjoyin' them roses!!
