I know winter is around the corner, and in Texas we have a saying. "If you don't like the weather, than wait 5 mintues and it will change"

Having said this, our weather as of late has been lows in the mid 30's highs in the low to mid 80's. When you have a swing of temps like this what is best for the roses? Now I imagine it only that it only gets very cold for only a few hours or so....

Any Thoughts?

Hi Kevin! Good to hear from you! You don't need to worry about the fluctuations in temperatures like that as long as it is still above freezing. It is when it actually freezes, that you need be have your protection in place. Right now, our temperatures are fluctuating between 20 degrees F (below freezing) and 68 degrees F. I haven't done anything to winterize or protect my roses yet, as nothing has stayed below freezing. Not to worry, your roses are using this time to get ready for dormancy, and need this bit of cold and warm to remind them.
