What are they?

Hi, i moved into this house about a year and a half ago, and last spring, these little rose bushes poke out if a stump(cluster of rose bases, the landlord must have chopped em down with a lawnmower) so i had these little canes, as i recently learned they are called. They grew pretty well, and this year i notice what? little buds well, i was totally happy, and i saw small pink petals. i gave the first one to my mom(im 16, mom likes roses:) ) but anyways, once it opened, it turned white, which is exactly what is happening with the ones i left on the bush

Those are probably R. multiflora, or English hedge rose, which is an invasive species in much of the U.S. (Sorry to rain on your parade).

It has taken over much of the habitat of our native roses; it sounds like you like little wild roses, so maybe try one of these guys instead...

If you are going to keep it anyway, prune off the spent flowers so the birds don't disperse the seed; a little like shoveling against the tide, but every little bit helps (I actually go into wild fields and rip big bushes out just for fun sometimes...)

only one of the roses has the pink- to white flowers. the other has a pinky-purple flower( i know, i am grasping, don't wanna have to mess with these things if they arent good) with only like five petals, the other bush has the normal multi petal flower. do i at least have one desireable rose bush?

Yes, happily the five petal, pinky purple sounds like R. virginiana, a wonderful native, so dig the rest out and cuddle that one!
