https://www.helpfulgardener.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=71503 is the only extended thread there has been here. There is a link to some photos, but I haven't followed the link.

If you can get the full scientific name of Adenium, you'll know. Rosaceae is the (rather large) rose family, with over 3,000 named members.

Well, not to differ with cynthia, but here's a list of what's included in family rasaceae: https://montana.plant-life.org/families/Rosaceae.htm

it includes wild strawberries, geums, serviceberry trees, ninebark, wild raspberries. Although they are all in the same family with roses, I think by no stretch would we use the common name rose to describe any of them. I think the same applies to the adenium.

I wouldn't have thought blackberries were roses, either, but they *are* Rosaceae. Those thorns, you know...:x

Adenium belongs to Apocynaceae. A one-shot Internet search gave me that result. Often referred to as the "desert rose," this plant seems to have some real...what I call "weirdities."
