Compost Tea

I've been using Sevin in the spray form because both my father and father in law used it in the powder form. But, after reading several posts about Sevin I'm not sure I want to use it anymore. Someone mentioned using compost tea instead of Sevin. How do I make compost tea? Thanks.

I assume you have some kind of insects on your roses. Have you identified them? Aphids can be removed with a stream of water from the garden hose, or killed with a soap solution. Spider mites can be killed with a soap solution, as well.

If you would care to post pictures of the damage you see on your plants, it would make it easier to offer suggestions about what to use instead of Sevin.

As for making compost tea, I always just put some compost in a burlap sack and soaked it in a bucket of water ... rather like a tea bag, you know? :)

It can be a much more complex process, if you want it to be. Type make compost tea in the search box on the upper left of the page here, and you'll find many older discussions about the process. :)
