Little patio roses and sun exposure

Hi:

I am just starting out and I have a miniature rose in a pot on my front porch. The porch faces southwest. I am in North Carolina and I wonder if it is shady most of the day is a good thing? The blooms are not really profuse.

Should I get them on the back porch which which faces southeast?

Roses - any roses love sun! They need to get at least six full hours of sunlight - not daylight, to bloom well. This is probably why you are not getting alot of blooms. Try giving it a little more sun and it will be a lot happier!

Thanks, I'll try the southeast back porch. Ciao!
