Which Roses Grow Best in San Diego, CA Weather?

Hi everyone,

I want to plant at least a few more roses in my back yard which gets at least 6 hours of sunlight daily. I know I want the roses that have long leggy branches with beautiful big blooms, but not sure which rose will fit the description. I am experimenting with 1 rose called grandiflora "Arizona" and I love the look and the flower that it produces. The hybrid tea rose bushes that I have don't seem to grow fast. They are tiny and tend to have many diseases. Does anyone know any other grandiflora (Name pls) or other kind of rose that would work in sandiego, CA weather?

Thanks much,
M

Hi M,

Welcome to The Helpful Gardener. I remember reading about a rose named Sonia because I know someone with that name. It was described as an old beauty, once a popular florist rose that grows tall and straight and is great for cutting. A beautiful peach with no scent.
