Moss Rose Seeds

Hello Everyone,

I have Moss Rose seeds and I have no idea how to plant them I want them in a pot so how would I do this, sinlge seed or multiple seeds in a pot. Also what type of soil could I use Miracle Grow with a little bit of All Purpuse Soil or do I need to use Seed Starter then transplant it into the bigger pot with normal soil.

Any replies will help, Thank You.

Do you have this Moss Rose:

Or this one:

They're totally different plants, which require different culture. :)

I have a feeling you're referring to Portulaca. They grow in full sun, and require a lean (poor) soil, sandy and gravelly for the best drainage. The seed is almost like dust, so it'll be easier to sow several plants in each container. :)

if you have Moss Rose and you want to plant these seeds then you put a two seed in a pot because if one seed is not plant then you have no loss you have already another seed. First you research your soil in laboratory that this soil is good for your planting or not.

Honestly these are one of the most invasive and ever returning plants I've ever had, next to wild mush rooms of course :x...but I digress.
Anyway, pretty much any where and anyway you would like because you are going to get a bunch of plants.
enjoy.

Moss rose (portulaca) is a pretty, colorful little flower on a sprawling succulent looking plant. Not suitable for bonsai, as it is an ANNUAL. At the end of the season it is done. Also soft, succulent, sprawling.

That may be because of your location. Where I live, it's strictly an annual, and dies in the fall. Because it's so wet here over the winter, the seed rarely, if ever, survives outdoors.

The seed is very fine. It will be easier to sow if mixed with some fine sand.

Moss rose is often used in areas of poor soil, where watering is difficult. It does okay under such conditions, but it will do better with slightly richer soil and regular watering. :)
