My rose bush doesn't bloom
My deceased fathers rosebush never grew much, so I moved it two years ago, potted it and it grew amazingly, however, it doesn't bloom. This year, I got 1 flower. It continues to grow upwards and outwards, but still no flowers. HELP!

Hello, Therappster. Lack of enough sun can cause lack of blooms but I suspect that your rose may be getting too much nitrogen from a nitrogen-rich fertilizer. Try to use a fertilizer with less N and more P in your NPK Ratio. Miracle Gro for example, can be as high as 30% nitrogen and this would produce a lush greeen bush with no or few flowers. Also, make sure that the potted plant does not have alternating periods of dry and wet spells because some blooms could be aborted during the dry spells. Evenly moist soil will do the trick but I admit, it is sometimes easier said than done!
