new gardener! Interested in starting rose bushes

I'm completely new to gardening. W e just bought a home in Fontana that needs alot of TLC. We recently revived the grass, LOOKS GOOD! but now I want to plant roses in the front yard, but I don't know how to get started? HELP! what do I do to prep the ground?

Buy some garden soil from the garden center. Dig a three foot hole. Put the rose and the soil in. You're off and running!
