New here - Lilac Problems!

This is my first post - this seems like a great forum! I purchased a dwarf korean lilac this March and it was doing great until about a month ago...it now has brown spots on the leaves and the leaves are curling. It is planted in full sun and my soil is heavily amended where it was planted. We have heavy clay otherwise... I water when needed trying not to over or under water and have not fertilized it. Any ideas? I have done some initial research and I can't decide if this is something common in lilacs or not. This is my first lilac bush and I love it!
Thank you all ahead of time!

I also have heavy clay and didn't overwater. All of my Dwarf Korean Lilacs suffered the same fate as yours. I planted some French hybrid lilacs and after 6 years they are still not thriving. However, I have two Miss Kim lilacs that are gorgeous. They're not even in a very sunny location. Possibly some types of lilacs tolerate clay soil better than others?
