Can anyone help to identify? And a follow up with you

Hi,

I have two pics (animated GIF) of my back yard hedges. I desperately need to do a restorative pruning as they have grown over into the yard. I believe one is a Yew, but the other I am not sure of. I do not want to wait too much longer to prune, but I know it's not great for the plant. Can I get some expert opinions as to when and what they are?

Thanks!!!

I agree, one looks like yew. The other looks more like hemlock. As far as timing for pruning, I'm not sure it matters, especially if you need to get it done relatively soon.
