How about some background and description? — where did it come from — What part of the world do you live? Did you find it indoors? Outdoors? What kind of environment? Why do you say fungus? Are you referring to the green stuff, white stuff, or the black stuff?

Looks like some of the lichen I see on trees in shadier/damper areas around here.

Kind of looks like something the cat coughed up on a bedspread.
