I Found Fruit Growing Around My House!! What is It?

I was taking a walk around my townhouse complex the other day and I saw that there were berry bushes growing! I took pictures of the closest bush and when I looked around I saw that a TON of berry bushes were growing around, and I had no idea!

Can someone tell me what kind of berry/berry bush this is? I tried to upload picture of the whole bush but it was too big, but you can at least see the leaves. *Tell me if they're edible too...for uh... research purposes..*

It looks like blackberry to me. If so, the berries need to turn completely black to be tasty. In my garden, the birds -- catbirds, robins -- start going after them when they turn red and usually get them the *day before* They would have become ready to harvest.

could also be raspberries, in which case red is the color you are looking for. taste one of the more mature looking ones, if its bitter then its an unripe blackberry, if it taste like a raspberry, then well its a ripe raspberry.

Do the stems look like they were given a light dusting of flour or powder? If yes, they are raspberries. The lack of the powdery effect doesn't mean much. Some times of year you have to catch the plants at the right time to see it. But the size makes me think blackberry.
