No idea what this is

Hey guys, recently moved into a new house and had these in the landscape. Trying to figure out what they are and how to maintain them.

I'm pretty sure those are yucca -- adam's needle. They will send up very tall stalks that look a bit like giant asparagus, then open cream-white bell-like blossoms. Practically care-free except to remove lower leaves if they die and the woody flower stalks which die after blooming. I think only thing that would phase them is too much water.

So I don't need to trim the leaves back at all? When would they normally flower?

Found this post from June 3, 2014, so I would call that early summer. But it would depend on where you are located.

My Yuccas are sending up flower stalks that are looking like asparagus spears

...no this is not grass. Don't trim the leaves back.

(I believe yucca root is edible as wild forage -- can't remember how they are prepared though. Must be good somehow because a groundHog ate most of the roots in another location. Yucca root extract is used for some cosmetics and as wetting agent for organic potting mixes)
