Strange parsnip-ish "weeds" or "veg" all over the garden ??
I have these growing everywhere. What is it? And why is is randomly growing everywhere?

We have wild parsnip growing wild in the lower elevation areas, along roads and such. Pastinaca sativa, wild parsnip (You can click on the images to see them better. Calphoto, a University of California website has better pictures.)
I don't think the leaves look like your plants.
I grow parsnips every year and the roots don't look like that ... maybe there are other species that look similar but I don't know about them. You can type in "parsnip" (common name) in that USDA website linked and see other plants with similar names.

I was thinking ranunculus-buttercups, too -- especially the newer pic from Nov. 8. Do they look like this at all?
