Sunflower? I don't think so

So I've been growing this 'sunflower' for about 2 months now, and one of them opened up to show pink petals, so I'm wondering what flower actually is this?

Showing us the leaves also would still help.

That flower is quite distinctive, but I'm having trouble finding it.

The yellow sundrops look pretty much like that:

There is a pink version of those, but the pictures of them seem different, not so notched:

note thin leaves going all the way up the stem:

wild geranium also has five petalled pink flowers that are sometimes notched, but not as deeply as yours:

here's their leaves:

Here are some more photos of the leaves, couldn't get a good angle cause there are other leaves in the way.

OK, so this is starting to make me crazy. It isn't any of the things I have suggested so far.

I feel like I should know it and it is very distinctive.

I have PM'd on your behalf a couple of our members who are very good at plant ID's, maybe we can get some help here! :)

That certainly reminds me of Viscaria. I grew it a couple years ago and that is what comes to mind. Don't have a picture to share...sorry. Charlene

Good job! Thanks, I think you nailed it!

It's hard to find a good picture of it. This one is a slightly different species, silene carolina (also called sticky catchfly)

Image

Silene viscaria, the sticky catchfly[2] or clammy campion,[3] is a flowering plant in the family Caryophyllaceae.

You're welcome. I loved the Viscaria flower, but the next Spring I found thousands of them every where, so opted not to plant it again. Charlene

Well done @rainbowgardener my first thought was Lychnis, but it can be Silene too... ;)
