Help with Clematis ID

Hello Gardeners!

Please help me ID this clematis I've had for 8 years.

Its flowering now on new growth in zone 7. There is no old growth, I went down to the ground this year.

Thanks everyone!

It's an interesting one. The classic purple clematis is jackmanii, but it doesn't have such long narrow petals. The closest I could find to it was this one:

Clematis guiding promise. But I don't really think that is it and there are a million varieties.

Haha nice, thanks for your effort. I think you are correct! I just read they are group 3, and I have cut them back to the ground every year with great results. However, it needs a lot of help climbing. Its possible the flowers are thinner due to sunlight. It gets a lot of shade with about 3-4 hours of direct sunlight. Thank you!
