Any idea what this plant might be.
Mom can't remember what she planted.

This is the small one, other one is 3ft tall.

In my garden, seedlings that look like that pop up everywhere in odd places including flower pots, and they are squirrel and chipmunk buried Willow Oak acorn seedlings

Do you have Willow Oak in your garden or neighborhood? It could be another kind of oak that's similar.

I agree it looks like a variety of oak. Where are you located? That might help pin it down.

Kenner (New Orleans Airport area). Y'all may be right because, when I transplanted it in the tiny garbage can, the very start or the lone root rising came from what look like an acorn. Are they really just one thin stem before they become oaks? It looks so weak and fragile. I've never paid attention to the trees on this block. Thank y'all
