Michigan garden - Unknown plant pops up (picture included)

Hello, over this past summer I started working on a new flower bed area. Due to other commitments I wasn't able to finish but noticed this larger green leafed plant growing. I don't recall it blooming and probably took this picture late in the summer to early fall. Any ideas? Thanks!

I don't know what it is, but it looks like a type of grass to me. I sometimes get grass clumps in my garden that look like what your picture shows.

reminds me of crocosmia, which might not bloom the first year while getting established...but probably wouldn't be there without you planting it.

Definitely something in the iris family, but not actual iris. I think potatoes is right about crocosmia, but possibly it could be gladiolus.

Someone planted it there. If you didn't plant it, then it was already there from before.
