Young hibiscus or weed?

Hello everyone! Thank you in advance for checking out my questionable little tree...
At the end of last fall, my parents gave me a potted lemon tree they had kept on their deck for several years. It lived amongst a number of other plants and trees, but was probably closest to a hibiscus tree that is also several years old.
Well, I put the tree out on my balcony this weekend and noticed for the first time that there is another little tree now growing in the pot alongside the lemon tree. This may sound insane to all of you gardeners out there, but I have quite a phobia of certain plants (sunflowers, anything on a vine, the kind of plants that might wrap around my wrist or ankle and pull me underground--yes, I know how that sounds). "Weed trees" are tops on my list after sunflowers, and they are unfortunately very prevalent in the city I live in, where they pop up between cracks in the sidewalk and alongside roads and anywhere else they can sink their grubby little roots.
My first thought upon seeing my lemon tree's new roommate was that it was a weed tree and I'd have to get my husband to take care of the matter, as I cannot touch it. The leaves are clearly not lemon tree. Then I remembered how close the lemon's pot was to the other trees last summer and thought perhaps it is an offspring of their hibiscus. I've got a small hibiscus on my balcony, too, and I realized the serrated leaves look similar.
So, garden experts of the internet, can you help? I will attach pics of the leaves of both trees and one of the stem of the tree in question (I apologize it isn't super clear). Any input will be greatly appreciated!
