I think it is probably freesia:

The flowers grow all along one side of the stem

and are reputed to be very fragrant. They are grown from bulbs and are very easy care in mild climates, but not cold hardy in my winter.

I haven't seen the flower, I just have the photo so I don't know its size but yes, it seems a freesia.

The buds on the plant in question don't look like Freesia at all. It may be some kind of Gladiolus or Watsonia, but I'm not sure either, especially if it's growing on another continent from the plants I know. The stalk is so thin. Looking at pics of those names, you might find a closer match.

Yes, finally it's not freesia. Someone told me "gladiolus illyricus" What do you think?
