blooms close in the afternoon

another bunch of plants i got from my neighbor that moved. what are these? thank you!

I believe it is spiderwort (tradescantia, aka widow's tears, trinity plant). When the blooms are open are they three petaled?

Deadheading these has to be done when the flowers are open, otherwise you can't tell which ones are done and which ones are just closed. But if you do snip off the flower clusters that are done, it does put out more and keep blooming a little longer.

ty! love knowing the names of the plants i was given! mine are pink though, and i was actually awake early enough to get a pic!
