What is this berry? Doll's Eye

When I saw this, I thought it was Actaea pachypoda, doll's eye aka baneberry. But when I looked online, the leaves are all wrong. Any ideas?

That looks more like what I found that Actaea pachypoda does. Interesting how much the berries look alike.

Given that you're in MI, I would vote Gray Dogwood. Usually a bush/shrub or even like a branchy small tree, the white berries smooth long leaves are the definitive characteristics. Very attractive and easy to recognize here in the midwest, but the berries are said to be poisonous. Distinctive and great looking but useless as far as being edible.
