Help Identifying A Tropical? Flower.

Hello all.

Forgive my intrusion to your site. I'm not a gardener but a photographer. I have this photo I took in Thailand whilst on holiday and I've been trying to find out the name of it as I get asked a lot. I can't seem to find it via Google so as a last resort I've signed up here for help.

Do you remember if this bloom was on a tree, shrub, vine? Any other clues you could provide? I'm curious right along with you, it's pretty cool, and I have no idea.

JONA and THG come through again! I think you got it. Took us awhile, because the original picture, while extremely artistic, gave few clues about the plant.
