Anyone know what this is?

Hi,

I noticed this plant growing in the flower bed out front. Have no idea what it is. Anyone know?

Some kind of baby tree. Fig sounds right for where you are. If it were in my yard it might have been a mulberry.

Definitely a fig.

If I were to put it in a pot and it got big enough, is there a chance I might get edible fruit from it?

Yup. More than a slight chance, too. Figs love to be maltreated, and potting them up is actually an incentive to fruit.
