Another flower ID, please

Something I must have planted last year and not sure what it is. Any help is appreciated.

This one I'm not sure about either...some have told me dahlia, but I'm still not convinced

The first one screams Arnica at me; the second is closer to double cultivars of Tithonia.

lorax, thank you, I think you are right about the arnica. I am trying to find pictures of double tithonia to compare, but am having difficulty. What I have read about them, though, they are an annual, and this is the second year this plant has come back.

Seed-prolific annuals can re-seed themselves and thus grow where they appeared previously. After all, a plant is only a seed's way of making more seeds. :)
