What is this?



There are "vanilla bean like pods" on this plant

Further research says it might be "Hemp dogbane", a species commonly called Indian Hemp (Apocynum cannabinum)

It's in our parking lot at work I may dig it up and add it to my garden.

Not sure, I hate to bust it up, but if you are thinking its Milkweed I'm sure it isn't.

As Told2b pointed out its poisonous, I decided to leave it be as its poisonous to animals, and my stupid shepherd would eat it!

Yeah that sap test was how To tell from dogbane to Milkweed, that and the side branches from almost every leafnode on the dogbane.

I have 6 different species of Milkweed in my butterfly garden and they all look very different in plant sizes and leaf shapes, so I like to check just in case.
