I'm trying to convince myself that it's a type of hawkweed, maybe European Hawkweed, but it appears to only have one bud. Hawkweeds I know of have multiple buds. Do you have a photo of it in bloom?

I'm guessing not a weed, maybe something in the daisy family? Show us a picture after that bud opens up! :)
