UV vs. IR greenhouse films

I work in a plastic films factory as the supervisor of the greenhouse films department and currently have an order for quite a bit of our 4year UV film that I do not currently have I stock. Our owner has instructed me to substitute an IR film in place of the UV. It seems to me that this could be rather detrimental to the customers platns. Am I wrong? Is this an acceptable substitution?

well, given the extensive data (not) provided on the UV blocking of the non-available product versus the UV potential blocking of the IR product,

I'd say do as the Boss says, and hope you have a job later on.
