Greenhouses in hot climates

Hey all, my name is BJ I am a volunteer working in Pisco Peru.

We are constructing a tree nursery at a local school and I am hoping to build a greenhouse to house all the seeds while they are germanating and developing into seedlings.

My question is if anyone knows of how to operate a greenhouse in a hot sunny environment. Pisco is in the middle of the desert, we don't get much rain and there is a lot of sun, with very dry conditions.

Obviosly I can't have to much heat so I need a material for the roofing that wont allow to much heat in but still allows the sun. If anyone has any ideas on construction or design for a heat friendly greenhouse I would love to hear from you!

Thanks all, look forward to hearing from you soon.

Hi, that sounds like quite an adventure!, I run a greenhouse here in KY. and we have a shade cloth that covers most of it. You should be able to find one online. They really work great and even help lower the temp. in the greenhouse.
