I planted a red star clematis about a week ago, and noticed the bottom 3 or 4 leaves are black and crunchy looking. I fed the plants yesterday evening with miracle grow.
Can you post pictures. It may just be because it was poorly cared for at the nursery/garden center where you purchased it. Where is it planted? full sun? shade? part sun? moist area? dry area? The more info, the better.
