Bleeding Hearts - and the late freezes???

My bleeding heart stopped blooming the leaves are shriveled and the leaves closest to the ground are black. Should I be worried and is there anything I can do?

Question, did you recently have a lawn service out?

I'm afraid what you're describing doesn't sound good at all but then you knew that already. I'm really sorry. Not in a position to take stabs in the dark on this one.

Did any of your neighbors recently have a lawn service out? Those companies are careless and don't particularly care about wind conditions when they've got 10 lawns backed up on their technician's list for the day to "treat". Drift can be a big problem.

It seems early but after blooming BH do die back that's why some suggest planting hosta's because they will take up the empty spots left by BH and why you need to divide in the spring.
