I was digging up my tiger lilies because this clump had gotten crowded. When I tried to get this bulb loose from the clump I broke the stem very close to the basel plate (red arrow) and I also lost a few large scales from around where the stem had grown. The bulb is a little smaller than a baseball, for reference.
Is this bulb a goner or might it still make it next year?
